Our lifelong interest in coffee, warm places, and
agriculture all come together for us in this business.
We have long loved coffee. We
begin the day with a pot of coffee and end it with the same. For
us, roasting our own coffee beans is a natural progression.
We have long loved agriculture as well.
After growing vegetables, herbs, and alfalfa in the Methow Valley
for the past twenty years, we are now grateful for the opportunity
to promote sustainable agriculture for farmers in other parts
of the world. For many farmers in developing countries, survival
can be a struggle. Low prices, an unstable world market, and isolation
keep them always on the edge of poverty. We can make a difference.
Living as we do in a small, rural community with a deep interest in global and environmental issues, we are
pleased to offer several organic fair trade coffees. Buying these
coffees can give farmers around the world a living wage, can build
community and provide schools. Choosing organic can limit the
use of pesticides and protect forest biodiversity, intentionally
"intercropping" coffee with various kinds of shade and
fruit trees, helping to prevent soil erosion and securing homes
for migratory birds. Through our choices, we can make the world
a better place. . .for now and for generations to come.

fair trade coffees, see our Organic Fair
Trade page.)
